I’m Barbara Dobbyn, the photographer behind Barbara Anne Photography here in Nanaimo.

For more than 15 years, I’ve photographed people who tell me all the reasons they don’t photograph well - and then watched their reaction when they see themselves differently in the images I capture of them.

My job isn’t just to take a flattering photograph. It’s to create an environment where you can relax, be yourself, and let me take care of the posing, lighting, expression and all those little details you shouldn't have to think about.

You don’t have to be good at having your photograph taken.

At the end of your experience, you’ll select your two favourite portraits to be professionally retouched. Love more? Additional portraits are available for $250 each.

Just five sessions. One day.

This isn’t a high-volume headshot marathon. I’ve intentionally limited the event to five sessions so each person has time to settle in, try different looks and create portraits that actually feel like them.

Your session is reserved once your $495 event fee is paid.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING...

I hate having my photo taken. Is this really for me?

Absolutely. Most people I photograph aren't comfortable in front of a camera when they arrive. You don't need to know how to pose or what expression to make. I'll guide you through the entire experience.

What should I wear?

You will receive my Modern Headshot Style Guide after you register for the event. If you still have questions after reviewing it, I am happy to schedule a wardrobe consultation call to help guide you.

Is professional hair & makeup included?

Yes. Professional hair & makeup touch ups are included, with camera-ready grooming available for those who prefer it. The goal isn't to make you look like someone else - it's to make sure you feel polished and camera-ready.

Can I purchase more than two portraits?

Absolutely. Your experience includes two fully retouched digital portraits. If you fall in love with more, additional portraits are $250 each.

Do I have to purchase additional images?

No. There is no additional purchase requirement. Your two included portraits are yours.

How quickly will I receive my finished portraits?

Images will be delivered withn 48 hours of the event.

Can I use my portraits for my business and social media?

Yes. Your finished digital portraits can be used across your website, social media, LinkedIn, marketing and other business platforms.
